About

Our SQE Core Guide 2nd Edition tells you EXACTLY what you need to know, without all the additional waffle that lecturers throw at you. Our guides break down key concepts into bite-sized, easy-to-understand chunks. We use tables, diagrams, flowcharts, and other learning aids to help you learn the SQE1 course syllabus more quickly.

SQE1 is a multiple choice exam, spread across two exams - FLK1 and FLK2 (see topic list below). The SQE multiple choice questions (MCQs) need to be answered in a certain way – but other textbooks and course notes only tell you the law, rather than showing you how to apply it for exam success. That’s why our guides walk you through each topic, and show you how to apply that topic to MCQs, so you are 100% ready for your exams.

Our SQE1 Answered Core Guide is a set of notes which covers the entire SQE1 syllabus - Functional Legal Knowledge (FLK) exams 1 and 2:

*NOTE: we have included an additional tax chapter (complete with worked examples) to help you really get to grips with the tax calculations you will need to complete for the business, property, wills, and estates topics in your SQE exams.

Which version should I buy?

We know that everyone learns differently, which is why we have created different ways for you to use our guides:

1. Our printed guide bundle comes as a bundle of three printed books. All topics are printed in greyscale, with full-colour covers to protect your guide. Bleed tabs on the sides of each page will help you quickly navigate between topics. Our printed guides use wiro bindings to ensure that your guide sits flat on the table. This is perfect for you if you like to have an actual book to take to lectures, make notes in, and tab up for your revision. You will receive three guides - FLK1: Part 1 (covering business, disputes, and tax), FLK1: Part 2 (covering contract law, tort, trusts, public law, and the English legal system), and FLK2 (covering the entire FLK 2 syllabus).

2. Our loose-leaf folder comes pre-hole punched and in our sturdy Law Answered folder. If you like to create your own notes, but don’t have the time to copy out large sections of text (who does, right?!)… this is PERFECT for you! The hole-punched guide allows you to integrate your new SQE notes directly into your own revision notes and gives you the flexibility to re-order subjects to suit your personal needs. Tabs are included to help you organise different subjects (PLEASE NOTE: due to unforeseen circumstances we are waiting on coloured tabs to arrive. We didn’t want to push back our SQE launch as we know how keen you are to start revising, so we will be providing plain white tabs with any folder purchase until further notice.
