Overseas Lawyers

Ready to add “English qualified solicitor” to your credentials? You're in the right place!

  • Which exams do I need to take?

If you’re already a qualified lawyer in another jurisdiction and now you plan to requalify in the UK, we’re here to help.

You’ve probably already looked at the UK regulator of solicitors’ (Solicitors’ Regulation Authority or SRA) guidance. If you haven’t, make sure you take the time to understand exactly what you will need to do to qualify - this varies depending on the jurisdiction of your existing qualification.

Your route to qualifying is almost certainly going to involve passing the Solicitors’ Qualifying Examination (SQE).

  • What is the SQE?

The SQE is a two-part exam, and the great news is that we have fantastic resources to support you in passing the first part, SQE 1.

The SQE1 is a multiple choice examination of core subjects which you will undertake over two days at special test centres around the country.

Our guide covers all the core subjects you will need to get to grips with in clear and concise English breaking down more difficult concepts into easy to follow steps.

Find out more in our SQE blog series.
